The construction industry is booming again!
This, coupled with the shortage of labour and the fear factor of being ‘Opal Towered’, it is no surprise that construction costs continue to rise in 2019. A rise in costs usually means tighter budgets, which is why project managers must establish in the planning phase the cost, time and quality requirements, so the client knows what they are signing up for.
Too often projects frantically blast into the execution phase without establishing these fundamental bench marks. This may give the client and team the feeling that ‘things are getting done’, but it usually results in missed scope, late changes to design, and detrimental impacts to time, cost and quality.
